13+ Candidate Sourcing Tips Tools You Should Be Trying
13+ Candidate Sourcing Tips Tools You Should Be Trying Regardless of how established your candidate sourcing methods are, theres no denying that recruiting technology is moving at lightning speed and the best recruiters are the ones who constantly work to stay ahead of the pack. Instead of scouring page after page of reviews on tools and processes, why not read what our panel of expert recruiters have to say? James Nathan The most excellent tool I now have and teach is not actually a piece of technology, but a skill using a technology which is X-Ray searching of LinkedIn. We all know that LinkedIn is the database that everybody owns, but the ability to look into it deeper and better, with less restrictions is something quite magical. X-Raying allows you to search the entire LInkedIn database with out extra cost, and without limit on number of searches or number of results. Fantastic stuff. James Nathan is Founder of The James Nathan Experience Caroline Stokes Now that Facebook is back in the recruiting game, so this new technology is being evaluated right now. Itâs a LinkedIn beater, for sure. But would I like someone approaching me on Facebook about a job? No. Only time will tell if Facebook will get it right this time. They usually do when they focus on a market segment hard enough. Caroline Stokes is Founder of FORWARD Angela Bortolussi This year for me was about trying out new sourcing tools but also getting back to basics. Yes, tools like Hiretual Candidate.ai, even Hubspot made frequent appearances during my sourcing activity although products such as these supported with my increase in viewing candidate LinkedIn profiles I checked out sites that many of us (recruiters) rarely think to use http://www.etools.ch/search.do http://www.cvfox.com/ Angela Bortolussi is Partner at Recruiting Social Chad MacRae Iâm loving the RelinkLabsâ job title research for recruiters tool. It gives you hiring data insights â" when you put in a job title, it gives you the most important skills for that role type in an easy to read visualization. It will tell you the most likely previous position that they were in, so you can look for people who are ready for a promotion. And, it will tell you the likely educational background and the average length of time in a position, so you can know if youâre using your time wisely when sourcing. Chad MacRae is Founder of Recruiting Social David Morel We have added extra functionality to our Tiger app, which allows candidates who have registered with Tiger to update their temp availability. The app communicates with our CRM system in real-time and increases the efficiency of our temp consultants allowing them to fill bookings quicker than ever before. David Morel is CEO Founder of Tiger Recruitment Lysha Holmes . I am fortunate enough that my CRM system is bespoke so I can adapt the technology whenever I want to. I am a social media addict so I am more interested in what the latest app is that spending money on tools. Lysha Holmes is Founder of Qui Recruitment Iain Hamilton I am now a certified partner of CandidateID and can provide CandidateID as SaaS or an outsourced talent generation platform. CandidateID allows companies to take a total addressable market view and then to understand every interaction a candidate takes with their brand. By having this intelligence you can see exactly, the content, and which stages of your process impact upon a hire positively and negatively. This intel allows you to pinpoint the people that are ready to hire and those that need more educating around your business. I was stoked when CandidateID asked me to be a certified partner. Iain Hamilton is Founder of People Traction Bronwen Hann For us, whatâs old is new again. There are always new ATS and ways of aggregating social media during your searches, but what works long-term is the ability to build relationships. For us the phone is still the best tool to further that goal, so weâre refocusing on that venerable technology and trying to make it newly relevant in our business. Itâs valuable to source through social media, but the best way to source is by having conversations with your network â" finding out whatâs driving their careers, who they know who is active on the market, etc. Recruiters who can harness this will always have an advantage. Bronwen Hann is President Senior Partner at Argentus Supply Chain Recruiting Billy Smith Hunter, a Chrome extension that we use with both LinkedIn and websites. Hunter allows us to find email addresses instantly for a domain whilst also finding email addresses for LinkedIn profiles allowing us to provide a more personalised approach when headhunting or sourcing new business instead of getting lost amongst InMails. Another tool we use is Sidekick, a piece of software allowing us to know when someone has opened an email. Billy Smith is Managing Director at FGS Recruitment Adam Glassman A robust CRM. We started adding talent networks a few years back, but very few offered a good way to connect and really get to know your members (candidates). Now, there are several good options out there that allow recruiters to connect to candidates, build relationships with them, learn their likes/dislikes over time, engage and nurture those candidates so that when the right req opens, you have the perfect candidate in mind already. Adam Glassman is Recruitment Strategies Manager at Alorica Dualta Doherty . . We use Canva Hootsuite for social media image creation and scheduling posts however we are always looking for relevant new innovative technologies. Dualta Doherty is Founder of Pro Recruitment Solutions Gill Buchanan Weâre always reviewing how updates in technology can help us to continue providing a fast and easy application process. Most recently weâve invested in updating our website, which will go live in the first quarter of 2017, and in ensuring all our online presences work for the latest smart phone technology. We are also using data analytics to ensure we are focussing our candidate attraction strategies in the right areas. Gill Buchanan is Director at Pure Resourcing Solutions

Promoting Your Company by Keeping Your Feet on the Ground
Promoting Your Company by Keeping Your Feet on the Ground When looking to promote an online business, there is a tendency to always look towards the newest trends in everything that you do. It is a way to draw more people to your business through traffic building. It is also a great way to make sure that your business will be recognized by other websites in the process which will bring more business your way. The problem is that all too often companies will lose sight of reality because they are constantly chasing the next big thing. One for instance is that too many companies relying on good customer satisfaction will ignore such important tools as the inbound call center. They trend towards online chats or email messages instead. While these methods of communication are all fine and good, they lack the personal connection that only talking to a live person can accomplish. Of course, finding the right telephone answering service can be difficult as not many Indian companies are willing to take what has turned into very low paying jobs. Companies in American and in the UK have been able to snatch up many of the jobs that India is turning away as more companies are willing to pay more to get native English speakers. With the ability to go global for anything your company needs, it is hard to stay grounded in reality. Seeing India turn its nose up to call center jobs is an interesting reminder that anything is possible in this world. If you are to make a difference with your online presence, you will have to make decisions which will help to keep your feet firmly on the ground at all times. Connecting with Your Base There are many great ways to connect with those who visit your website to buy your product or service. One of the easiest ways to do this is by asking your customers to connect with you. Using such social networking sites as Facebook and Twitter allows you to get to know not only what your clients like. You will also get to know what they like about your company. In finding out what they like about your company, it is possible to either promote your good point or make changes to the bad ones. Setting up an account with either of these sites costs you nothing. Making the profile something people will pay attention to can cost you some extra money. Of course, as soon as the account looks the way you want it to, it is possible for it to be a great promotional site. You can do everything from announce upcoming events and roll-outs to asking those who follow what you write in these locations what it is they would like to see more of. The more you connect with your base, the more possible it is that they will tell everyone they know about your company. Creating a Blog While the social networks are great places to attract new people to your business, it is not the best location to really inform people about your business. It is hard to learn everything you need to know about a company in a tweet or two. Creating a source like a blog is a much better way for your customers to get to know your business. The social media sites can mention each new blog post you post. You can direct people from your blog to the social media sites and then right back to the blog. In a blog you can do everything from tell the history of the company to explain why it is that your company is doing which is different. In most cases you will simply write about the different things going on in your industry. Maintaining interest in your business is highly important if you are to keep a growing base to keep spreading the word. Reaching Out Beyond the Web Whether your company is in the business of selling products or services, it is a good idea to send out mail through the United States Postal Service (USPS). By sending out mail, you are making a personal attempt to reach your clients. They will appreciate the personal touch the sentiment makes possible. The reason why this is important is because everyone adores feeling special for one reason or another. Even if all you are sending a note for is to say thank you for the order, it is the thought that counts. The more personalized you can make the mail, the more effective it will be in sending the right message about your company. The more people feel at home with your company, the more friends and family they will tell about it. This growing base will be able to keep growing as long as you make sure to always take care of the customers you have.

What Amazons Drone Talk Teaches Us about the Future of Work
What Amazonâs Drone Talk Teaches Us about the Future of Work During Black Friday week, Jeff Bezos surprised CBS News anchor Charlie Rose during an interview by taking him into a room where he revealed Amazonâs latest R D project: delivery drones. (You can see a video here.) It instantly sucked up all the headlines; some touted it as the greatest publicity stunt ever, and some bemoaned the fact that CBS News basically ran a 14-minute commercial for Amazon on the night before Cyber Monday. Image credit: Amazon.com Other business blogs are taking the proposal seriously and opening up a debate on whether the drones could work. Amazon says that they would be programmed with GPS coordinates to fly packages less than five pounds in weight (that would cover 86 percent of Amazonâs shipments) with ten miles of an Amazon shipment hub. Of course, there are about a thousand issues to be worked out, including regulation, safety (youâd hate to have one fall out of the sky on your head, since they might weigh as much as 47 pounds), and security. Drone bandits are probably already working on hacking strategies. But how cool would it be to have what you ordered delivered to your door in 30 minutes? Amazon has already revolutionized the way we buy everything; I confess that itâs my go-to site for any product I canât find in a brick and mortar store. Mostly itâs because their âone-clickâ buying saves me so much time; my account information and all my shipping addresses (home, office, gifts) are just a click and password away. One article on says that Amazon has to invent drones because drones could kill Amazon. Writing for Slate.com, Mattew Iglesias says, âSuppose some robotics firm somewhere develops quadrotor drones that can reliably execute parcel delivery missions over the relevant range for a metropolitan area, and the product becomes broadly commercially available. Amazon would be facing a pretty major disaster. Suddenly every Walmart and Target and Macys in America would be equipped with a small fleet of drones, and all the hard work Amazons done over the past 15 years to be the leader in online ordering and fulfillment would be for naught.â But this is a post about the future of work, not retail. If drones are feasible and they do become a local delivery mechanism by 2020 or 2025 (most reasonable analystsâ best guess), your 10-year-old niece or nephew could be building, maintaining, programming or operating them for a living. For that matter, so could you. Finally, a way to make all of those wasted hours on your Xbox pay off. The point is that drone jobs were not on anyoneâs radar screen (pun intended) until last week. Within a decade or so, they could be a huge part of our consumer culture. Logisticians (another job youâve probably never heard of) are the professionals who help companies move and merchandise goods logically; theyâre why you know just where to look for pasta sauce or dish soap in a grocery store. A great Forbes article on jobs of the future (written in September 2013) says that the U.S. DOL expects the market for Logisticians to grow by 26 percent by 2020 (coincidence?) and to work on projects like commercial use of drones for delivery. The same article mentioned âethical hackerâ as a fast-growing field. These hackers are paid by companies to find security flaws in products before bad guys can. They are an essential part of product development and launch. Part of the challenge in preparing workers for these new jobs is in knowing what skills, materials and experience will be needed. Training centers, universities and workforce organizations struggle to keep up, trying to stay ahead of the learning curve and create training programs that meet industry needs. How can you prepare for the jobs of the future? Next post: Essential Skills for Lifetime Employment.

Designing a Front End Developer Resume
Designing a Front End Developer ResumeYou are searching for a new job and you want to make sure that you are going with the right front end developer resume format. While there are many different types of resume formats out there, not all of them are going to be suitable for you. You want to be sure that when you are designing your own resume, you have included all of the things that are important to you when it comes to the job. If you have done your research and know what will make you stand out from all of the other applicants, then you will be able to select the format that will be best for you.The first thing that you need to remember is that you should always look at the various job descriptions that are posted on the internet. Most of the time, these will include the contact information for the company that you would like to work for. This is the best way to get an idea of what type of position you are applying for and if the person on the other end of the phone really wants t o meet with you. When you are designing your front end developer resume, it is also important to write it in a style that is going to impress the person that you are talking to. Most people get excited when they hear that a person has designed a resume that is full of attention grabbing graphics and large bold fonts. However, if you are going to be interviewed by someone, it is going to be important to make sure that the presentation is easy to read and make it clear what the position is that you are seeking. When you are trying to craft a front end developer resume, there are certain areas that are going to help you set yourself apart from everyone else. One of the main reasons that people do not take their resumes very seriously is because they do not include the contact information. As such, this is something that you need to make sure you include on your resume and also include on every interview that you have with a potential employer.Another aspect of the front-end developer res ume that you need to make sure you include is a summary of the experience that you have. If you can list down any projects that you have worked on, then you will add a lot of value to the process of someone reviewing your resume. You will be able to be as specific as possible when you are describing your work history so that it matches what is on the board. The final part of a front end developer resume that you want to focus on is a list of previous employers. It is important to understand that the reason you are seeking a job is not to be seen as a 'snob' but to stand out from the crowd. Being able to show that you have moved up through the ranks and understand how things work at some of the larger companies will help you get the job.You should also be careful not to list down any things that you may not be able to talk about in a professional interview. Since you are in a position where you have to explain everything to a prospective employer, you should be careful to focus on the most pertinent facts that you can. You should also include a short summary of the project that you were involved in so that the interviewer will know what you can do and what you did not do.Finally, make sure that you pay attention to the things that you wrote down. Not only should you think about how it will impact the interviewer but you should also think about how it will appear on the resume and what it will say about you. After all, it is your first impression that matters and not only will it be the first impression that you get on the job but it will be the first impression that your employer will have of you as well.

Meeting Meg - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog
Meeting Meg - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Margaret Wheatley (or simply Meg) for the first time. I was part of a circle conversation about leadership, arranged by my good friend Carsten Ohm. Meg is the author of (among others) A simpler way and Turning to one another. We had a very diverse group in the circle, and as always the discussion was deep and intense. Megs presence gave the discussion an added dimension, because she could use her background and experience to point out the deeper roots of the discussion at a few critical points. We started from the definition of a leader, that they use in the Berkana Institute, namely that a leader is someone who wants to help (or someone who wants to contribute to positive change). From this the discussion went to whether you can help people at all (something Ive been thinking a lot about lately), to what it means to help and why we help people. At one point Meg pointed out, that in her experience this discussion could only take place in the western world. African and Asian cultures would never doubt whether we can and should help each other they are more comunally oriented, where our culture is more individualistic. In Africa people are closer to each other, families are extended way beyond parents and siblings and its taken for granted that you can and should interfere in other peoples lives. Our challenge now is to find a way to integrate these world views. There is little doubt in my mind, that the individualistic life style has taken us about as far as it can. If we go further in that direction, we will achieve very few positive results, but we will increase the feeling of loneliness and isolation that is so prevalent in the west today. In short we need to become better at being together, and one way of doing this is conversation circles. Conversation is the human way of thinking together, and Meg explores this in her book Turning to one another, which also includes ten suggestions for conversation topics. As always, the circle conversation left me feeling a little drained (in a good way). Its a paradox, that this way of talking slows the conversation down, but actually makes it much more intense. And this results primarily from the fact, that while theres a little less talking going on, there a hell of a lot more listening. I can just feel new ideas popping up, both when somebody is talking and during the silences. Thanks for visiting my blog. Last Updated: March 2, 2020 Prioritize Sleep Above Any Other Interests As a nurse, you will be made to do lots of different shifts. Even when you study, youll have placements that could start at midnight and run all the way through to the morning. Basically, your sleep schedule gets ripped to shreds. Plus, depending on where you work, your shifts could be different every week, so you cant really get into a sleeping rhythm. This is where many people struggle to survive in this line of work, as theyre always tired, with no sleeping pattern. Now, theres no real way around this other than sleeping whenever you get the chance. If you have a few hours to spare at home, spend them asleep, rather than doing something else. Especially if you know you have a night shift coming up other things can wait, sleep when you can! Photo by bruce mars on Unsplash Learn How To Dress For The Job You may not think so, but nursing can be quite physically demanding. Youre on your feet a lot, constantly moving around, and you do have to lift heavy equipment at times. Therefore, having the right clothes for this job makes all the difference. Now, a lot of healthcare practices do supply scrubs for nurses, but they tend to be standard ones. But, if you browse scrubs here, youll notice there are many different varieties of different materials. Get some that are lightweight, stretchy, and dont make you sweat a lot. This makes your job more comfortable, which helps you get through every shift. Photo by Hush Naidoo on Unsplash Prep Your Meals For The Week It can be extremely hard for nurses to eat properly and healthily during a week of work. You may not have a typical 9-5 shift pattern, so finding time to make and eat lunch is tough. Realistically, you can solve this with ease. All you need to do is prep your lunches at the start of every week. Put them in the fridge/freezer in little containers, and all you need to do is microwave them when you need to eat. This ensures you get all the energy you need to do such a demanding job. A lack of food and nutrients leads to tiredness, which ultimately causes stress. Becoming a nurse is one of the most selfless acts a person can undertake. In a society of so many different races, cultures, customs, and beliefs, nurses are a universal gift to all, and the dedicated work that they do and kindness they deliver on a daily basis should serve as a reminder of the fundamental humanity inside us all. Make no mistake about it, this isnt a career choice for the faint-hearted. There will undoubtedly be periods where youre under immense pressure and stress. But, you can increase your odds of surviving in this line of work by using the advice above. What's next? Ready to take action? Choose the right tools to help you build your career.
